In the cities other than municipal water and tanker water, people greatly depend on bore well water for their daily purpose. So, bore well recharge remains as a common method of harvesting rainwater in urban areas. Due to excessive usage bore wells often run dry after a few years of use so people tend to use multiple bore wells which is not an easy solution. Using multiple bore wells is considered as a problem. An effective way to mitigate this issue is to recharge bore wells during the monsoons This not only improves the quantity but also the quality of the bore well water. Rooftop rain water and surface runoff can easily be used to recharge bore wells after some basic filtration This water can be extracted and pumped later for future use.
